Gupkar Declaration: Azad’s mysterious silence raises many eye-brows
10/29/2020 12:06:14 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 28: Mysterious silence maintained by leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad about political developments in J&K raised many eye-brows as he (Azad) has not uttered even a single word.
It is widely believed that Azad has decided to adopt the ‘wait and watch policy’ because he is already sidelined in the Congress party after writing a letter.
Highly placed sources in the Congress said before reacting in haste manner Azad is waiting for things to unfold because after Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘controversial’ statement on national flag it is difficult rather impossible for the secular parties to become part of the Peoples’ Alliance.
Azad’s loyalists in J&K Congress have also maintained silence over unfolding political developments in the UT. They are waiting for their leader’s signal to announce a future course of action.
Azad, who was tested COVID-19 positive on October 16, have not given any political statement.
“I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am in home quarantine. Those who came in contact with me in the last few days may kindly follow the protocol,” he said in a tweet on October 16.
Pertinent to mention here that Azad was the first leader to visit Farooq Abdullah when he was released from detention.
As reported earlier by The Early Times, loyalists had boycotted the much publicized ‘Kissan Sammalan’ organized by the J&K Congress in connection with the maiden visit of Rajni Patil after her appointment as AICC incharge J&K held on October 10 at Jammu.
