Four day DSEJ's workshop on ECCE concludes

JAMMU, Oct, 29: To keep the stakeholders abreast of different strategies being followed in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and update them with the latest methodologies in the field, the Directorate of School Education Jammu organized a four day online workshop in collaboration with Eduweave foundation. The Director School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta inaugurated the workshop. The programme was attended by over 200 elementary teachers in virtual mode.
In her inaugural address, the Director empashised on ensuring universal access to ECCE and achieving quality early childhood care and education by 2030 as envisioned in NEP 2020. She highlighted the importance of a good preschool education program in building a strong foundation for the holistic development of a child. Resource persons from Eduweave foundation, which included Amrita Kaushik (Co-Founder and Director of the organization), Neeru Joshi, Mudita Agarwal, Beant Lamba, all experts in their respective fields, deliberated at length over the techniques of designing preschool practices for holistic development of a child.
This workshop aimed at equipping the elementary teachers with the required strategies of putting preschool curriculum in practice.
The theme for the workshop was carefully selected to serve the purpose, which included designing a time table for holistic development, developing mathematical thinking among young children, significance of stories and songs in early language development, Circle time-relevance and practices.
All the sessions of the workshop witnessed encouraging responses from the participants. This workshop was coordinated by the Divisional Resource Centre for Pre-primary Education, Jammu.
