Gandhi Global Family felicitates DC Kathua, Corona warriors

KATHUA, Oct, 31: To honor the services rendered by the frontline warriors to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, Gandhi Global Family organized a programme, here at DC office complex.
Gandhi Global Family headed by Vice President S.P Verma felicitated Deputy Commissioner, Om Parkash Bhagat with Mahatma Gandhi Sewa Puraskar 2020 and a UN Pin for his administrative efforts involving front line departments to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the district with huge footfall of travellers for it being the gateway of Jammu & Kashmir. ACR Kathua Davinder Paul, team of Doctors and Paramedic staff of AYUSH headed by ADMO Kathua Vikram Jamwal were also honored for their collaborative efforts in organizing camps in remote areas of the district where Immunity Boosting Medicines were distributed by AYUSH teams.
BDO Basohli, Ranjeet Kour was especially honored with Mahatma Gandhi Sewa Puraskar 2020 for her dedicated services during the pandemic.
PRI members of different Pancahayat halqas were also honored for their proactive role in spreading awareness on Covid-19 pandemic in their respective areas.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua O.P Bhagat appreciated the efforts of Gandhi Global Family for their cooperation in organizing relief and awareness camps during Covid-19 Pandemic especially in far off areas of the district.
He said the fight against the Covid-19 is not yet over and there is need that every responsible citizen plays his role with responsibility to break the chain. He appealed to frontline departments and PRI members to be extra vigilant in view of Festival season and the ensuing winter season to minimize the chances of spike in Corona positive cases.
Earlier, Vice president GGF J&K, S.P Verma in his address said Kathua district administration taken prompt administrative and health related measures to contain the Covid-19 spread. He said being the propagator of Gandhian values, GGB owe to contribute and help people in this difficult time of pandemic. He thanked District Administration for extending all help to the team of Gandhi Global Family in organizing awareness and welfare programmes in the district.
President GGF Kathua Dr Brij Bala Kohli was also present in the programme.
