GMC braces for resuming routine surgeries in MCH, AHs
Dr Sudhan asks HoDs to make arrangements

JAMMU, Oct, 31: Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma today chaired a meeting regarding restart of routine surgeries in the Operation Theatres of GMH, SMGS Hospital and Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu from November 2.
Head of departments of Surgery, Orthopaedic, Obstetric and Gynecology, CTVS, Urology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology agreed to re-start the routine surgeries in their respective Operation Theatres.
The Principal instructed the Medical Superintendent, Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and other HoDs to submit the requirement of machinery, equipments and other infrastructure for its further submission to the J&K Medical Supplies Corporation.
The Principal also said that the Liquid Oxygen Plant shall be made functional within a week's time positively.
Meanwhile, Dr Shashi Sudan, while giving the details regarding Covid patients, informed that GMC has total 56 positive patients out of which 15 are in isolation ward, 12 are in CCU, 19 in ward no 3 and 10 in HDU. Out of 56 patients, 40 are on oxygen support, while 11 patients have been provided with bipap facility. The Chest Disease hospital has 7 patients she said and informed that one death has been reported in GMC in the last 24 hours.
The Principal GMC informed that a total 684 cylinders including 668 in GMC and 16 in CDH were consumed in the last 24 hours. She also added that GMC has a buffer stock of around 1107 cylinders and CDH has a buffer stock of 60 oxygen cylinders.
