Dr Pandita honoured for management of Covid-19 insurance claims

JAMMU, Oct, 31: Dr Daleep Pandita, Chandigarh based Regional Manager of Government of India Undertaking, The New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) was today honoured by BJP leader and President of Association of Displaced Panchs and Sarpanchs of J&K, Variender Kuchroo in presence of social activist, SK Bakshi today during simple ceremony at Gandhi Nagar office of the company.
Dr Pandita, who is also Nodal Officer for Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on COVID - 19 Health Insurance Scheme, stated that out of 10 death claims of frontline health workers reported in J&K, who are insured under Government of India's Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojya (PMGKY), 6 claims amounting to Rs 3 crores have been paid by NIACL so far. Similarly about 115 hospitalization claims due to COVID-19 amounting to Rs 45 lakh pertaining to general public have been settled by the company under its various health insurance policies.
NIACL is proactive in settling maximum health insurance claims reported due to COVID-19 pandemic under time bound hassle free manner to mitigate financial burden of its policy holders due to this pandemic through its 22 offices spread all over UT of J&K, as explained by Dr. Pandita. In the meantime, NIACL is coming up with an affordable health insurance cover exclusively for COVID-19 pandemic very soon.
