KVK, organises workshop on conservation of petroleum products

REASI, Nov 10: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu organised one day workshop on conservation of petroleum products here today at Sirla village in Reasi district of J&K. Number of farmers of the village enthusiastically participated in the programme. All the SOPs were strictly followed while conducting the programme. The programme was sponsored by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (Govt. of India).
Major objective of the workshop was to create awareness among the farmers on petroleum conservation in agriculture. The programme was organized under the able guidance of Director Extension of SKUAST-J, Dr.SK Gupta. The event was inaugurated by Sr. Scientist & Head KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal. He warmly welcomed the participants and briefed the participants about the importance of the programme. He elaborated the petroleum products conservation techniques in agriculture to enhance the income of the farmers.
Dr. Sanjay Kaushal, Scientist spoke on various aspects of fuel conservation and urged farmers for the maximum fuel conservation in agriculture so that their income can be increased.
Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, Scientist spoke on the water pumps and their efficient use specifically by the orchardists. He also discussed on the efficient water management techniques.
Dr.Lalit Updhayay, Scientist, Dr.Arvinder Kumar, Farm Manager and Karan Dev Singh, Agriculture Extension Officer were also present during the programme.
The programme was concluded by Dr. Sanjay Kaushal and assisted by Manohar Lal with formal vote of thanks.
