Lack of transparency witnessed during JKSSB’s Account Assistant exam

POONCH, Nov 10: The entrance exams for the post of Account Assistant Panchayat, conducted by JKSSB today have come under criticism of a large number of aspirants for lack of transparency as there were no CCTV cameras installed in the examination halls.
Moreover the media was kept away from news coverage on the spot, which raised doubts on the claims of smooth conduct of entrance examination. “The entrance exams was of two hours but as it was being claimed by the JKSSB that videography of exam will be done so as to ensure transparency but it was not done in all centres and wherever it was done, it was observed that only half an hour video was made just for formality,” some of the aspirants said.
They said that there was no cleaning in the centers in Poonch district, as most of the centers particularly educational institutions, which were full of dust due to their closure due to Corona. They further said that some of their friends and relatives appearing for the exam in other districts informed that the situation was almost identical there.
“Students were compelled to sit on desks covered with thick layer of dust. No sanitizers were available for candidates,” they said further adding that the arrangements made were not up to the mark candidates while transparency of exam was also doubtful as even media persons were not given access to cover exams.
When Early Times contacted one of the officials of JKSSB for his comments, he ruled out any such lapse and said that all required arrangements were made for smooth conduct of the exam.
