New Delhi, Nov 13: Retaliatory firing by the Indian Army, in response to ceasefire violations from across the Line of Control (LoC) killed seven-eight Pakistan Army soldiers on Friday. Sources in the Indian Army told that two-three Pakistan Army Special Service Group (SSG) commandos were among those killed.
On Nov 13, the Pakistan Army carried out unprovoked ceasefire violations in multiple sectors from Uri to Gurez along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. According to preliminary inputs, Indian troops at forward posts spotted suspicious movement along the LoC in the Keran sector on Friday. Alert border troops foiled the infiltration bid which resulted in the initiation of an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation (CFV) from the Pakistani side.
The Indian Army released videos showing Pakistan Army positions being hit across the LoC in north Kashmir on Friday.
Pakistan fired mortars and other weapons along the LoC in Keran sector. This unprovoked action was met with retaliatory fire from the Indian side. Several ammunition dumps and multiple terrorist launch pads have been damaged, the Indian Army said.
According to the Indian Army, "Three Indian Army soldiers have been martyred in Action (KIA) and three soldiers injured" on Friday.
The cavalry fighting vehicles (CFVs) spread to larger areas from Keran to Uri sectors.
This was the second infiltration attempt from the Pakistani side within a week. The Indian Army had foiled an earlier infiltration bid in Machhal Sector on November 7/8 in which three terrorists were killed.
In 2020 alone, 4,052 ceasefire violations have taken place at the India-Pakistan border compared to 2019's tally of 3,233. As many as 20 civilians on the Indian side have lost their lives due to Pakistani shelling and another 47 sustained injuries.
