DPEO suspends Govt employees, Lambardar for taking part in electioneering

KISHTWAR, Nov 17: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Kishtwar today suspended three government employees and one Lambardar for violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by actively taking part in a political function.
Early Times carried a news item in its November 10, 2020 edition after the photos and videos of joining of these employees were surfaced on social media following which an inquiry was conducted by ADDC Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik and these employees were found guilty of violation of Model Code of Conduct.
As per the details available with Early Times, those suspended include Abdul Karim, teacher, HS Kither, Mohd Yousuf, teacher, HS Chamoti of Zone Drabshalla, Bihari Lal, an employee of SFC, East Division Kishtwar and Mohd Ismail Lambardar Kither.
The action was taken after photographs were circulated on the social media showing these employees participating in a political function. The suspended teachers shall remain attached in the Office of Chief Education Officer Kishtwar and SFC employee shall remain attached in the office of Divisional Manager SFC East Kishtwar during the suspension period.
DPEO Kishtwar Ashok Kumar further warned all the officers/officials not to indulge in any political activity and abide by the Model Code of Conduct in letter and spirit.
