Early Times Report

ANANTNAG, Nov 21: Contrary to BJP's J&K President, Krishan Pal Gurjaris-Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment today said that every citizen is free to practice religion of his choice and his party believed in every religion.
"All Muslims are our brothers. Bhartiya Janta Party believes in Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. We believe in every religion and in our country every citizen is free to practice religion of his choice," Krishan Pal Gurjaris said however he didn't condemn the Ravinder Rana's statement in which he had said that Abdullah's and Mufti's will have to chant Jai Shree Ram slogan.
The Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was keenly interested in seeing Jammu and Kashmir touching new heights of prosperity. "Instead of guns and grenades, Prime Minister wants to see pens and laptops in the hands of Kashmir youth," he said.
Gurjaris said that due to fear of defeat, Peoples Democratic Party and National Conference forged unity. "Till yesterday they (NC and PDP) were fighting with each other but now they came together due to fear of defeat," he said.
While addressing party workers at Pahalgam, the Minister assured them that the BJP led central government will benefit the Gujjar and Bakerwal community by implementing Forest Rights Act.
He said that revocation of Article-370 will benefit Kashmiris at length as it would bring large business chains in Jammu and Kashmir. "Prior to revocation of Article-370, businessmen couldn't come to Kashmir but now it is possible and we want to Kashmir to achieve prosperity," he said.
Twelve hundred seven candidates have filled nominations for contesting Panchayat by-polls in South Kashmir's Anantnag district.
