Prominent citizens call upon Congress leader over erratic power supply

Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Nov 21: Prominent personalities from different areas of district Kishtwar today called upon ex general secretary District Congress Committee Advocate Mohd Asif Naqeeb expressing concerns and angst over the erratic power supply in the district. In conversation with Naqeeb they raised their woes and inconvenience caused by an insufficient power supply in such harsh winter days. Naqeeb assured them that he and his party will impress upon the district administration as well as the concerned department to get the appropriate amount of electricity supplied to the district.
In a statement Naqeeb said that, “ Kishtwar is the home of power projects like Dul Hasti, Pakal Dul, Keru, Kwar and Ratle which are built using our resources and yet we are still forced to live in the dark in such harsh winter. District administration should take a note of it and balance out the power curtailment schedule by reprimanding the concerned department. People will have no option but to hit the roads if the power curtailment schedule is not reduced and adequate power supply isn’t ensured in Kishtwar” Naqeeb also requested all the leaders across party lines in the district to join hands together and raise a voice in unison against such “irresponsible and unacceptable behaviour” of the concerned department.
“At a time when issues like such are bothering the common masses parties here are busy in election campaigns. Elections can wait for a day but the priority should be standing with the people when they need us. I request all the parties and leaders to come forward and stand in unison against such unjustified and exploitative moves of the administration”.
