Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 25: On the call of All India Insurance Employees’ Association, LIC Employees under the banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association Srinagar Division staged massive demonstrations today on 25th November 2020 in front of LIC offices of Jammu & Kashmir.
The demonstration in Jammu region was led by Com. Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division; and in valley region, was led by Com. A.M.Tantray, Divisional President, and Com. Ajaz Ahmad Dar, Joint Secretary.
Speaking on the occasion at LIC office D.O. Cell Jammu, Com. Pawan Gupta, lambasted on the NDA Government for its anti people, anti farmers and anti workers policies due to which LIC employees have been compelled to observe ONE DAY STRIKE on 26th November 2020.
He strongly condemned and opposed the agenda of the NDA Govt. for privatizing all the public sector enterprises and opening the economy to full blast of both the domestic and foreign capital. The Public Sector means property of the public, property of the Nation; and this property of the Nation is being sold to the private players. Important sectors of the economy like financial sector, ports, mines, space, defense etc. are being opened fully for the exploitation of the private capital.
The government has already taken measures to privatize public sector general insurance industry by divesting its shareholding in GIC-Re and New India.
Com. Pawan Gupta strongly advocated the withdrawal of NPS; and demanded increase in family pension, updation of pension and old pension scheme for all.
He said that through this strike where it is demanded to transfer cash of RS/7500/ per household whose income is not taxable, we also demand of the Government and the LIC Management to settle the long pending wage revision of LIC/GIC employees as per their aspirations and paying capacity of the institution. He appealed to raise the voice for withdrawal of amended labour laws and agriculture legislations.
