Rajouri, Nov 28: Government Degree College, Thannamandi, organized an Inter-Collegiate Essay Writing Competition on the theme, “Impact of COVID-19 on Employment” under Manodarpan, an initiative of MHRD, Govt. of India being executed by the Department of Higher Education, J&K Govt. The students from various colleges of J & K have participated in the competition. In this intercollegiate competition Wasid Sheraz of GDC Thannamandi bagged Ist position, Shreya Gumble of GDC Nowshera bagged 2nd and Aditya Prasher of GDC Udhampur (Boys) bagged 3rd position Certificates. The competition was jointly organized by the career councelling cell of the College headed by Dr. Tajinder Singh (HOD) Botany and College Placements and Training Cell which is headed by Dr. Khalid Rayaz (HOD) Geography in which more than 100 students participated. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi appreciated the affords of both the officers for conducting such a competition and emphasized that the college shall take more such initiatives in future for the development of students through Manodarpan Programme.
