Amidst COVID pandemic, NHPC engages 59 trainee engineers, officers

Jammu, Nov 29: Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic crisis, NHPC Limited-- India's premier hydropower company--in a major positive development, issued 59 offers of appointment letters for various Trainee Engineer/Trainee Officer posts.
Official spokesman here on Sunday said that the issue of appointment letters by NHPC is a high morale booster during the ongoing Covid-19 global pandemic which has driven unemployment rates around the world to levels unseen in generations.
Commenting on the development, A K Singh, CMD, NHPC said, “ee congratulate and welcome the new bright young engineers and officers who are going to join the NHPC family in both technical and non-technical disciplines.”
He said that NHPC is offering them a highly challenging and rewarding career and the opportunity towards contributing to developing the power sector of the country and nation-building as a whole.
NHPC has issued a total of 59 offers of appointment letters which include 51 Trainee Engineers (30 in Civil and 21 in Mechanical disciplines) and 8 Trainee Officers in the Law discipline.
NHPC is also in the process of recruiting Trainee Officers in disciplines of Finance and HR.
NHPC had earlier announced vacancies for 86 posts in various disciplines and had received over 11,600 applications for the same.
The recruitment has been made on the basis of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2020 results for Trainee Engineer Civil/ Mechanical posts and on the basis of CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2020 results for Trainee Officer (Law) posts.
