NPP Protests against Ex-BJP MLA for threatening opposition workers on gun points
11/29/2020 11:22:34 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Nov 29: Accusing the BJP of abusing the administrative machinery to browbeat and terrorize the workers of opposition parties particularly the Panthers Party activists of District Udhampur, a huge contingent of NPP workers led by Taranter Singh, Vice President--District Udhampur held a massive protest at Udhampur. Seeking registration of FIR against Ex-BJP MLA RS Pathania, the party workers while condemning the assault on Panthers Party leader of Basantgarh Pawan Rassal by the said ex-MLA and his armed gun-men, sought immediate arrest of the offenders. The protesters raised slogans against the BJP and the local administration for sheltering the accused against whom several complaints of criminal conduct and corrupt practices had been disregarded for the reason best known.
Addressing the media persons, Taranter Singh said that the NPP activists are being threatened, harassed and intimidated by the said ex-BJP MLA for exposing his acts of omissions and commissions committed during the last few years. The ex-MLA however crossed all limits yesterday when he along with his gun-men/PSOs pounced upon NPP leader Pawan Rassal and assaulted and manhandled him. On public raising alarm against the ex-MLA, the latter caused one bottle of liquor to be placed in the vehicle of the NPP leader. He then used his influence with the police, called some police men and asked them to seize the vehicle as its occupant was carrying one bottle of whisky. Where is the law? Has the ex-MLA been assigned the powers of magistrate and the flying-squad and has he been given/delegated the authority by the administration to exercise the powers of police. Even if accepted the bottle of whisky belonged to Pawan Rassal, could the ex-MLA search and seize his vehicle through his gunmen who had not only caused through restraint but flaunted their guns on him and beaten him mercilessly?, asked Taranter Singh.
The NPP leader said that the notorious ex-MLA had been carrying huge cash and money in his vehicle but none was taking cognizance of his illegal acts and MCC violation in view of latter being a BJP man. Seeking arrest of the Ex-MLA for his criminality the party leader cautioned to intensify the agitation in case the administration failed to act.
