JAMMU, Nov 29: The protest of family members against Gharota Police for not registering complaint in an assault case against accused continued but on the other hand the concerned police official refuted the allegation of family and said that they are asked the family to come to police station but they are not coming.
Sources told Early Times that the female members of the family, who were assaulted, staged strong protest and alleged that the police have been shielding the accused. Female members of the family alleged that police have been shielding the main accused, who had assaulted the male members of their family, who had allegedly come to grab their land.
“The accused are notorious land grabbers of the area, who attacked us and after fierce scuffle, they fled away from the spot and when we reached the Police Station Gharota, the concerned SHO refused to lodge complaint on the issue, which clearly shows that police are in hand in glove with the attackers,” they said.
The denial mode of the Police led to protest demonstration by the female members of the family and local villagers against Police for their attitude towards the issue, they alleged.
When Early Times contacted the Dy SP Akhnoor, he said that they had asked the family members to come to police to lodge the complaint but they are not coming to the Police Station. “I assure that they will be provided justice,” he maintained. |
