Following 483 fresh recoveries COVID-19 recovery rate in JK reaches 93.95%, 370 new cases

SRINAGAR, Nov 30: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 93.95 percent as 483 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals and COVID centres today. As 370 new cases were reported today the positive cases reached 1, 10,224, the death toll reached 1694 following nine fresh deaths.
Srinagar district reported 84 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district 81 cases, Udhampur district 26 cases, Ganderbal district 23 cases, Pulwama district 22 cases, Budgam district 19 cases, Baramulla district 18 cases, Rajouri district 17 cases, Kishtwar district 16 cases, Kathua and Samba districts 15 cases each, Bandipora district eight cases, Anantnag district seven cases, Kupwara district six cases, Doda and Ramban districts five cases each, Kulgam district two cases and Poonch district one case.
Jammu and Kishtwar districts in the Jammu division each reported two fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Kathua, Samba, Budgam, Bandipora and Kulgam districts. So far 1,104 people have died due to the virus while as in Jammu division 590 such deaths have taken place so far.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 370 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 181 from Jammu division and 189 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 10,224. Also nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported; six from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 483 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 202 from Jammu division and 281 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 10,224 positive cases, 4,965 are active positive, 1, 03,565 have recovered and 1,694 have died; 590 in Jammu division and 1,104 in Kashmir division.
Out of 30, 14,877 test results available, 29, 04,653 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 88,608 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,030 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,965 in isolation and 37,572 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 24,347 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,059 positive cases, 1,124 active positive, 21,519 recovered, 416 deaths; Baramulla has 7,455 positive cases, 308 active positive, 6,984 recovered, 163 deaths; Budgam has 6,895 positive cases, 231 active positive, 6,563 recovered, 101 deaths; Kupwara has 5,198 positive cases, 234 active positive, 4,881 recovered, 83 deaths; Pulwama has 5,109 positive cases, 150 active positive, 4,873 recovered, 86 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,553 positive cases, 119 active positive, 4,356 recovered, 78 deaths; Bandipora has 4,418 positive cases, 144 active positive, 4,223 recovered, 51 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,207 positive cases, 196 active positive, 3973 recovered, 38 deaths; Kulgam has 2,593 positive cases, 52 active positive, 2,490 recovered, 51 deaths and Shopian has 2,348 positive cases, 74 active positive, 2,237 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 20,677 positive cases, 659 active positive, 19,718 recovered, 300 deaths; Udhampur has 3,565 positive cases, 440 active positive, 3,076 recovered, 49 deaths; Rajouri has 3,487 positive cases, 151 active positive, 3,287 recovered, 49 deaths; Doda has 3,111 positive cases, 235 active positive, 2,820 recovered, 56 deaths; Kathua has 2,800 positive cases, 104 active positive, 2,659 recovered, 37 deaths.
“Kishtwar has 2,494 positive cases, 255 active positive, 2,221 recovered, 18 deaths; Samba has 2,480 positive cases, 209 active positive, 2,239 recovered, 32 deaths; Poonch has 2,391 positive cases, 56 active positive, 2,313 recovered; Ramban has 1,925 positive cases, 136 active positive, 1,771 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,459 positive cases, 88 active positive, 1,362 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 10,224 positive cases in J&K, 10,762 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
