People craving to see change through DDC polls: Raman Suri
12/1/2020 10:47:53 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 1: "Massive participation of voters in DDC polls in Jammu & Kashmir, and also of those politicians who were crying hoarse about the abrogated Article 370 indicates that masses believe in democracy and are happy to see powers getting decentralised in the new Union Territory. These people are also happy to see central laws being extended here in the UT due to passing of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act 2019 on 5th August 2019".
This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive Member Raman Suri, who added that Gupkar leaders have always remained double-faced, and today also on one side they are criticising abrogation of Article 370 and on other side they are participating in the DDC polls. This exposes their dual standards and divisive politics, he alleged.
Suri said, be it Congress, PDP or NC, each one of them had always been keeping central laws that empowered common people at a bay and had been depriving people of their legitimate rights.
Today, when central laws have been implemented in J&K, the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes are sure to get their dues and all commoners are getting empowered through these elected bodies.
He said, besides implementation of central laws, other infrastructural measures are also being taken in J&K to pave a way for industrialists and big business houses in order to make their presence felt here in a big way. He said, Jammu and Kashmir is going to be completely transformed and will be at par with other states of India. Days ahead, he said, belong to the people of J&K, which is evident from the way programmes and policies are being unfolded.
