Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 1: The open split in Gupkar Alliance again became public after senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and Party's District President Kishtwar filled his nomination papers for the post of District Development Council (DDC) Kishtwar constituency against the National Conference candidate.
As per the details available with Early Times PDP District President Kishtwar Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain filed his nomination papers today in the office of Returning Office (ADC Kishtwar) giving clear signal that the Gupkar Alliance partners have already parted ways in Kishtwar and Doda District where both parties pitted candidates against each other.
Following the filing of the nomination papers by the PDP leader who was accompanied by former party MLC Firdous Ahmed Tak and party youth President District Kishtwar Wasil Doolwal has now set the Kishtwar constituency for triangular contest between the PDP, BJP and National Conference.
BJP had filled Raj Kumar Shan, a close confident of BJP General Secretary and former Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma while National Conference has filled a local businessman Zakir Hussain Butt as its party candidate and with the decision of PDP contesting the elections from Kishtwar DDC constituency, it is believed to give an upper hand to the BJP-
However NC has ruled out any impact on Kishtwar DDC elections adding that NC will definitely win since BJP has failed the people of Kishtwar District with its false promises and denying the employment opportunity to the local unemployed youths in the under construction power projects.
Meanwhile Independent candidate Sandesh Mahajan who was claimed by both PDP and NC as its own has won the Sarpanch election from BJPs strong bastion and Hindi Heart land of Atholi Padder-However BJP manage to retain its Sarpanch seat of Lopara-B of Dachhan block from where its party candidate Mangat Ram wins the election.
"Sandesh Mahajan is PDP's District Secretary-I congratulate him and the people of Atholi for voting for him," said PDP District President Kishtwar Sheikh Nasir Hussain while at the same time NC senior leader from Padder Janki Nath told the Early Times, that Mahajan has distances itself from the PDP at the time of filling of nomination papers added that he wins with the active support of National Conference.
