Kathua, Dec 2: Career Counseling and Placement Cell of Govt. Degree College, Kathua organized a Career Awareness Webinar, in Collaboration with Employment Information cum Advisory Bureau , Department of LifeLong Learning, University of Jammu on 2nd of December , 2020 for Semester 5th students . The programme was conducted under guidance of Prof. Asha Ram Sharma Principal, GDC, Kathua and Dr. Kavita Suri Director Department of Lifelong learning University of Jammu. The special Resource Persons were Dr. Verinder Koundal Department of Economics, University of Jammu, Dr. Roopali Fotra , Institute of Human Genetics , University of Jammu and Dr. Rewa Khajuria , Counsellor , EIAB, DLL, JU. The programme was conducted under Manodarpan an initiative of MHRD , Govt. of India. In his welcome address, Prof Asha Ram Sharma highlighted the importance of such programmes for the students. He appreciated the role of Career Counseling and Placement Cell of the college in organizing such career awareness programmes. He stressed upon students to take benefit of such activities organized by college, as such activities can shape their career. Dr. Varinder Koundal , in his presentation , apprised the students about career option and job opportunities in Economics after graduation and postgraduation. He explained in detail about various career options available to students of economics.
