| NCC unit introduced in Central University Jammu | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 2: The 4th J&K Battalion which spreads over Samba and Kathua Districts recently benefitted 17 new academic institutes of the border area with the introduction of NCC unit. Under the able leadership of Major General Naveen Kumar Airy, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh a banner of NCC along with parchment certificate was handed to Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu by Brigadier Satish Kumar, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters Jammu for opening of NCC of hundred (100) Senior Division Boys in the University, part of newly raised 4th J&K Battalion NCC, Commanded by Colonel Dharmendra Pandey.
The function was presided by ceremonial lamp lightning with the introductory lecture on the importance of NCC by Brig Satish Kumar. NCC helps the cadets by achieving their aspirations by joining the Armed Forces and various other State and Central Government jobs, over and above it shapes cadets into best citizen of the country was addressed by Col. Dharmendra Pandey in his speech. Dr. Ravi Kumar Registrar of the University requested for allotment of Girls wing in Central University of Jammu.
