Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 2: In Ward 56 of Gangyal of Municipal Corporation Jammu, the local people are agitated and protesting for getting the development work done for their area that has been ignored.
People have alleged that the councilors of the ward have not been seen since they have won and the corporation and the PWD department are not even hearing the pleas of people. Due to lack of development work in the area, people of Ward 56 Mohalla Bazigar have closed the main road coming to their locality by digging a pit and putting electric poles in it for the last 15 days.
Till date no officer has come to take care of them, People have alleged that since 2014 when BJP government came to power, no development work has been done in their area.
On Wednesday, the women of Bazigar locality protested fiercely against the Municipal Corporation of Jammu and the PWD department and while giving their full support to the demands of the Bazigar mohalla, former chairman of Municipal Corporation Jammu and former local councilor Satish Sharma also reached the spot. He said that the kind of situation which has been made of Baazigar locality is no less than a hell, the roads in the area have not been repaired even once in the last 6 years. He said that the BJP pick is doing work at snail pace, the locality where their supporters live is being rebuilt by uprooting the paved road in that locality and rest localities are being treated half-heartedly.
He said that there is no law of Municipal Corporation is implemented in Ward 56, here only the BJP leaders are considered officers. Whomever wishes, he blocks the road by putting a heap of sand gravel to build a house in the middle of the road, but the officials of Corporation do not take any action, even the cleanliness of the ward has crumbled. Satish has warned the administration that if the black topping is not done on the street of Bazigar locality in a few days, then they will protest by closing the highway.
