JK on path of COVID-19 recovery with just 4.45% active cases of virus; 452 new cases, 6 fresh deaths

SRINAGAR, Dec 02: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir is slowly but surely moving towards the path of recovery with respect to COVID-19 and same can be gauged by the fact that there are mere 4.45 percent of active cases of the virus as on date.
The union reported 452 new cases of the virus today following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 11,130. As six deaths were reported in the past 24 hours or so the number of virus related deaths reached 1,708.
Jammu district reported 127 new cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 81 cases, Udhampur district 54 cases, Baramulla district 25 cases, Budgam district 21 cases, Ganderbal district 17 cases, Kupwara district 16 cases, Rajouri and Doda districts 15 cases each, Bandipora and Kathua districts 14 cases each, Kishtwar district 10 cases, Pulwama district nine cases, Anantnag and Samba districts eight cases each, Ramban district seven cases, Reasi district five cases and Kulgam & Poonch districts three cases each.
Jammu district in the Jammu division reported two fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Kupwara and Rajouri districts. So far 1,110 people have died due to the virus in the Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 598 virus related deaths have occurred so far.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 452 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 258 from Jammu division and 194 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 11,130. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 403 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 168 from Jammu division and 235 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 11,130 positive cases, 4,951 are active positive, 1, 04,471 have recovered and 1,708 have died; 598 in Jammu division and 1,110 in Kashmir division.
Out of 30, 64,139 test results available, 29, 53,009 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 93,131 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,088 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,951 in isolation and 33,959 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 32,425 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,257 positive cases, 1,113 active positive, 21,725 recovered, 419 deaths; Baramulla has 7,498 positive cases, 254 active positive, 7,081 recovered, 163 deaths; Budgam has 6,961 positive cases, 245 active positive, 6,615 recovered, 101 deaths; Kupwara has 5,224 positive cases, 225 active positive, 4,915 recovered, 84 deaths; Pulwama has 5,127 positive cases, 144 active positive, 4,897 recovered, 86 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,571positive cases, 126 active positive, 4,366 recovered, 79 deaths; Bandipora has 4,445 positive cases, 127 active positive, 4,267 recovered, 51 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,231 positive cases, 188 active positive, 4004 recovered, 39 deaths; Kulgam has 2,599 positive cases, 56 active positive, 2,492 recovered, 51 deaths and Shopian has 2,353 positive cases, 71 active positive, 2,245 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 20,899 positive cases, 759 active positive, 19,836 recovered, 304 deaths; Udhampur has 3,644 positive cases, 420 active positive, 3,174 recovered, 50 deaths; Rajouri has 3,527 positive cases, 173 active positive, 3,304 recovered, 50 deaths; Doda has 3,139 positive cases, 213 active positive, 2,870 recovered, 56 deaths; Kathua has 2,834 positive cases, 114 active positive, 2,681 recovered, 39 deaths.
"Kishtwar has 2,510 positive cases, 238 active positive, 2,254 recovered, 18 deaths; Samba has 2,495 positive cases, 224 active positive, 2,239 recovered, 32 deaths; Poonch has 2,397 positive cases, 56 active positive, 2,319 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,941 positive cases, 98 active positive, 1,825 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,478 positive cases, 107 active positive, 1,362 recovered, nine deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 11,130 positive cases in J&K, 10,790 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
