Traffic to remain suspended on Srinagar-Jammu highway for 4 days to carry out repair work

SRINAGAR, Dec 3: Srinagar: The authorities on Thursday said that for the maintenance and undertaking major repairs on National Highway-44, four days have been kept as traffic dry days when no vehicle would be allowed to ply on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
Officials said that Deputy Director PWD in a communique to ADGP traffic, Jammu has requested him to notify the dates, which has been kept as traffic dry days on NH-44, to the concerned traffic officials.
The decision, according to the communique, was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of chief secretary on October 10.
As per the communique, December 4, 11, 18 and 25 have been kept as traffic dry days to undertake major repairs and maintenance of road surface, sliding zone and shooting stone areas on NH-44.
"In continuation to the minutes of the meeting dated 13.10.2020 held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, it has been decided to keep 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th December 2020 as traffic dry day on NH-44 for undertaking major repairs and maintenance of road surface, sliding zone and shooting stone areas by NHAI," reads the communique.
It further states: "Accordingly, I am directed to request you to kindly advise concerned traffic officers/officials to notify the same for public information and facilitate NH works."
