BJP counters false, motivated propaganda of opposition
12/3/2020 10:11:54 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Dec 3: Bharatiya Janata Party in a press release issued here today has refuted the opposition’s allegation of ‘playing to the galleries’ plus‘resorting to rhetoric’ and instead accused the opposition of pedalling lies and motivated falsehood to mislead the people. “Shocked by the public support to BJP despite their best efforts to malign the party, the opposition is now trying to emotionally exploit the people and label baseless charges against the BJP for having failed to look after the interests of Jammu region,” stated Brig Veteran Anil Gupta Spokesperson of the Party.
Bursting the falsehood being perpetrated by the opposition, BJP listed the initiatives taken by Modi led BJP government during the last six years for holistic fast track development of Jammu region under infrastructure sector as construction of Ring Road, Four- laning of Jammu-Poonch Highway, Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, Six-laning Jammu-Pathankot Highway, Four-laning Ramban-Banihal Highway, Tunnels at Chattargala, Sudhmahadev and Kaliugasar, Keedian-Gandiyal Bridge, monorail project, cable car at Jammu and Patnitop, New road to Bhaderwah – Kishtwar via Sudhmahadev.
The other developmental projects include multi-tier parking in Jammu, beautification of Jammu city, Ujh Multipurpose Project, Mansar Rejuvenation Project, Tawi and Devika restoration projects, Jambu Zoo, Ratle Hydroelectric Project, Bio-tech industrial park at Kathua, Engineering College Kathua and National Water Sports Centre, Basholi.
“The list is endless but the Vikas is invisible to the opposition leaders since they are wearing blinkers and refuse to see the all-round development and instead tell lies to the people. BJP challenges the opposition to list out their achievements in the field of development of Jammu region during their 60-year rule as compared to our 6 years,” reiterated Brig Gupta.
Another false propaganda pertains to listing of names of beneficiaries of Roshni scam claiming that the lists are selective and why every beneficiaries name is not being hosted on the website. Loss of jobs for locals is another white lie. “J&K is the only entity where 100% government jobs including gazetted and non-gazetted are reserved for locals. No other state/UT in the country has this provision,” asserted Brig Gupta.
Misinformation about Land Laws and unjust comparison with Himachal is another ploy of the opposition which is completely false. Section 118 of Himachal is restrictive and does not put an absolute ban on the sale and purchase of land and property in Himachal, stated Brig Gupta. BJP appeals to the people to understand the hollowness of the opposition and not fall prey to their false propaganda which is motivated and bereft of facts.
