GDC Paloura organises online painting, video recording competitions

Jammu , Dec 3: NSS Unit in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club of GDC Paloura (Mishriwala) under the Patronship of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal GDC Paloura organized Inter-college online Painting and Video recording competitions on “WORLD AIDS DAY” 2020 on the theme “Global Solidarity, Resilient Services”. The event was co-ordinated by NSS Programme officer Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, Prof. Anita Jamwal and Dr. Sanjay Kotwal under the convenorship of Prof. Narayan Dutt. The aim of organising such event was to make students aware about HIV epidemic, to speak out against HIV stigma and to call for an increased response to move towards ending HIV. Students from various colleges of J&K(UT) participated in the online painting and video recording competition. The Adjudicators of Painting and video recording competition were Dr. Mustaq Ahmad Rather, Project Director, J&K AIDS control society, Health and Medical Education Department and Dr. Revika Arora, Assistant Professor Chemistry, Govt PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. In Painting Competition Tanvi Sharma of GCW GandhiNagar bagged the first prize; Niharika Santhal of GCW Gandhi Nagar, secured the second prize; Riya Kaw of GDC Paloura clinched the third prize. In video recording competition the first position was secured by Miss Riya Kaw of GDC Paloura while the second and third positions were clinched by Miss Gagandeep Kaur of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Thakur Suryauday Singh of GDC Paloura. E-Certificates were awarded to the winners. Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the College appreciated the efforts of NSS Unit and members of Red Ribbon Club for organising such an event on digital platform.
