JAMMU, Dec 4: Akshay Kumar, son of Late Bansi Lal and Pushpa Devi, resident of Chakk Gotta, Lakhanpur, Kathua, has been declared qualified for the award of degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mass Communication and Journalism by the School of Knowledge Management, Information and Media Studies of Central University of Jammu.
He worked on the topic, "Information and Communication Technology and Conflict Resolution: A study of Kashmir Valley," under the supervision of Professor Dr Bachha Babbu, Central University of Jammu.
With this achievement, he has become first Ph.D Awardee of Department of Mass Communication and New Media (MC&NM) of Central University of Jammu (CUJ).
The research thesis gives important insights for the policy makers to use the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for bridging the gap between People of Kashmir Valley and the Government which may in turn help towards resolution of decades old conflict.
He had qualified NET and JKSET, conducted National Testing Agency of University Grant Commission and Kashmir University respectively. |
