DG YSS Inaugurates T20 Christmas Celebrations Cup

Jammu, Dec 17: Director General Youth Services & Sports Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman inaugurated the T20 Christmas Celebrations Cup in presence of Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player & Member Indian Cricket Association, Arjun Choudhary Managing Director KC Sports Club,Vivek Suri, Faheem Tak, Amit, Rakesh Koul Former Ranji Player, Avinash Uttam, Saleem Rehman, Sanjeev Sharma and Madan Mohan at KC Sports Club ground Jammu.
The tournament is being Jointly organized by Sr. Cricketers/Members of Indian Cricket Association & KC Sports Club supported by Horizon Sports Club and The Game Changer Sports Club. The objective of the tournament is to celebrate Christmas together through T20 Cricket.
Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman was the Chief Guest in the inauguration function, while speaking on the occasion said that Christmas is a festival of great festivity and happiness so we all should celebrate the festival together with great happiness.He further said that Sports is the real antidote of covid so one must participate regularly in sports activities. He said that BCCI must conduct domestic matches for all categories by involving maximum youths in cricket activities in order to fight the pandemic.
He also spoke with glorifying words for Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player and Member Indian Cricket Association for regularly promoting cricket and cricketers of J&K in a real sense.
Rajesh Gill Coordinator of the event while speaking on the occasion said that Love, peace and Joy are the ingredients of a wonderful Christmas and we should all share love and joy with each other.
Earlier in the opening match Vishal Cricket Club defeated Media Cricket Eleven by 9 wickets. Batting first Media Eleven scored 120 for 7 wickets in 20 overs with Anil 35, Sunil 14 and Amit 13 runs. From bowling side Raman, Rajesh Gill and Aqib took 2 wickets while Rakesh Koul and Bhanu shared 1 wicket. In reply Vishal Cricket Club chased the target in 16 overs by losing one wicket thus won the match by 9 wickets. Rajesh Gill was the main batsman who scored unbeaten 65 runs while Rohan Gill and Rakesh Koul scored 30 and 20 runs to the total. From bowling side Rahul took 1 wicket for his team. Rajesh Gill was adjudged as Man of the match.
In another match Vridhi Royals defeated KC Sports club by 17 runs. Batting first Vridhi Royals scored 156 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets with Vinayak 32 runs, Jasbeer 30 and Arya 29 runs. From bowling side Sanam took 3 wickets while Vivek took 1 wicket.
In reply KC Sports could not chased the target and managed to score 139 runs by losing all wickets in 19.5 overs thus lost the match by 17 runs. Vimarsh Kaw 34, Shubam Pundir 24 and Abhinav Puri 22 were the main scorers. From bowling Side Gourav took 4 wickets, Sannat took 3 wickets, Jasbir and sachin shared 1 wicket. Gourav was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vijay Dhar,Sabastian and Amit whereas RP Singh conducted the proceedings of the inauguration function.
