8-year old dies in accidental shooting

JAMMU, Jan 6: In a tragic incident in Churyana village of Kuntwara in Tehsil Drabshalla of Kishtwar District, an 8-year old boy died after the weapon of his VDC uncle went off accidentally.
As per the details available with Early Times, the deceased boy and his cousin brother were playing in the house when the incident took place.
As per the senior police officials, today at about 4.30 PM, an information was received through reliable sources that one minor boy namely Amit Kumar S/O Om Prakash age approximately 8 years was accidentally shot and killed by his cousin brother namely Ravi Kumar S/O Daram Singh age approximately 13 year with VDC rifle of his father at his residential house in village Chudyana Tehsil Drabshalla, District Kishtwar some 30 KM from District Headquarter Kishtwar.
Daram Singh S/O Parad Ram age 44 years is a VDC member of Chudyana-A- uncle of the deceased child.
As soon as the police received the information, a team headed by Dy. SP hqrs Kishtwar Davinder Singh Bandral rush to the spot and investigation of the incident has been stared.
As per the initial reports, both the children were alone at the home and were playing together when the 13 year old came in contact with the weapon of his father that went off accidentally.
Police has also registered the case and had started further investigation.
