Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Jan 7: Special Gram Sabhas were today organized here across all 312 Panchayats of the district to sensitise the general public about the ill effects of drug addiction on health and the society.
The sensitisation programmes, under the aegis of Nasha Mukat Bahrat campaign, were organised under the overall supervision of the District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PRI members in all the 312 Panchayats of the district have been roped in to generate awareness among the masses about the ill effects of drug abuse on health and society.
A large number of locals of all age groups participated in the programmes adhering to the SOPs regarding the COVID19. The participants were appealed to adopt a sensitive approach while dealing with various situations of life and not indulge in drug addiction which badly affects the socio-economic condition of the society.
The participants were told that besides de-addicting the drug users, there is a dire need to address the major reasons which provoke the youth to take drugs. They were also urged upon to work religiously to eliminate drug abuse from the district and make Rajouri and Nasha Mukt district.
