DC reviews R-Day celebration arrangements

RAMBAN, Jan 7: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today reviewed arrangements for Republic Day 2021 celebrations in the district here at a meeting of district and sectoral officers.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Haseeb-Ur-Rehman; ACR, Dherinder Sharma, CPO, CMO, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD, PDD, officers from Army and Paramilitary forces and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting decided that the main function would be held at District Police Line, where the chief guest would unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the march past comprising the contingents of Police, Paramilitary Forces and Army Band. In view of Covid-19 pandemic, the celebrations would be held in a limited manner, the meeting was told.
The DC constituted various committees for different arrangements including award selection committee, reception committee and Cultural programme committee.
The DC directed the engineers of R&B, PHE & PDD to ensure adequate arrangements of barricading, seating and drinking water supply besides uninterrupted power supply on the day of function.
It was also decided that district administration would felicitate the employees and volunteers with exemplary performance in their respective fields. The COVID warriors would also be felicitated in recognition of their services at different levels during the pandemic, the meeting decided.
