Katra hoteliers welcome industrial policy
1/8/2021 10:51:37 PM
Early Times Report
KATRA, Jan 8: Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, president Rakesh Wazir said that the New Industrial Developmental Scheme announced by the government will increase the employment opportunities in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and will boost the Industrial & Economical growth in a big way.
He said that it was long pending demand of the Association vis-à-vis PHDCCI that since the topography of the J&K is such that it is at the far end corner of the country and even otherwise due to militancy and other related incidents in the Union Territory it was not possible to bring investment in the UT till the time some attractive package would have been announced.
Government realized that fact and a good industrial package is announced, he said and thanked government and all people associated with it and requested that while seeing the eligibility it be kept in mind that maximum units may get eligible in availing that incentive scheme and the local business community in addition to outsiders too should invest vigorously in UT to avail these incentives.
Shyam Lal Kesar Chairman (HRAK) said that it is good that Service sector is included in Industry and since our UT is mostly dependent on Tourism the earlier packages announced by the earlier governments did not prove to be much fruitful because hotels and service sector was not in it and since that has been included we feel major investment will come in it and the basic attractiveness of the scheme is that it is on GST & interest too and that too spreaded in long years by which no one will be able to wind up unit by availing subsidy and whosoever will come in UT with investment will stay for long and as a result the Industrial and business activity will prosper in real sense .
The meeting among others was attended by Association's Gen. Secretary Kuldeep Dubey,Vice Presidents Nishant Sharma, Rohit Khajuria, Sumit Khajuria, Amit Rahi, Meena Wazir, Sanjay Gupta Secretary Sudershan Sharma etc.
