CHENANI, Jan 9: Govt. Degree College, Chenani organized a web talk on Career opportunities/Entrepreneurship in Agriculture, Aquaculture, Dairy/Poultry farming, Vermicomposting and related fields. The event was organized under the aegis of the Career Counseling Cell of the College.
The resource person on the occasion was Dr. Shivesh Pratap Singh, Prof. & Head, Govt. P.G. College, Satna, Madya Pradesh. He deliberated at length on the concept and practice of entrepreneurship, explaining the concept of new integrated practices that include improved farming technologies like integrated nutrient management, site-specific nutrient management, conservation technology, use of bio-fertilizers, crop rotation, zero tillage, and the use of farm management systems like Agrivi which helps farmers track their activities on fields, as well as the whole farm productivity and profitability.
Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College thanked the resource person and emphasized that through the conversion to an integrated farming system and the adoption of modern farming practices, the mitigation of problems of food security and global warming could definitely be reached. |
