DC reviews preparedness for Covid-19 vaccination

RAMBAN, Jan 9: The arrangements for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme, 2021 were today finalized here at a meeting of District Level Task Force Committee, which also reviewed the preparedness for COVID-19 vacation in the district.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Nazim Zai Khan, the meeting was attended by the Committee members ACR, Dherinder Sharma; CMO, Dr. Mohammad Fareed; Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr. Vinod Sharma; Dy. CMO, Dr. Iqbal Bhat; besides XENs, DPO, DSWO, BMOs, officers and officials of concerned departments besides the representatives of NGOs.
The DC emphasized on the cent percent coverage in the IPPI by carrying out the immunization in a coordinated manner. He also highlighted the need to involve ASHA and Anganwari workers, PRIs and prominent citizens to increase the outreach of the programme along with its effective implementation.
During the meeting, it was informed that Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programe is going to be held in the district from 17th to 19th January 2021, under which children in the 0-5 year age group will be given pulse polio drops. The District Immunization Officer, (Dy. CMO) gave a detailed brief of IPPI Plan. He informed that a total 66472 children in the 0-5 age group would covered at 436 vaccination booths in four blocks of the district.
Earlier, the CMO apprised the members about the comprehensive strategy and joint action plan to be adopted during the IPPI.
Meanwhile, the DC also discussed the modalities for roll out of Phase- 1st COVID-19 Vaccination in the district.
While introducing the plan for COVID-19 vaccination drive, the CMO said that the vaccination shall be held in hospital setup and explained the process of reaching out and phase wise prioritization of the beneficiaries.
