DDC flags off Beti Bachao Beti Padao awareness rally

KATHUA, Jan 9: Department of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Kathua today organised a awareness rally under Beti Bachao Beti Padao (BBBP) flagship programme. The District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat flagged off the rally from the office of the Programme Officer ICDS Kathua.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the Anganwari workers and helpers to aware the people regarding the importance of the girl child in the society. He reiterated that their door to door interaction with people can help percolation of scheme to the remotest areas of the district and encourage better education of girls.
A large number of Anganwari workers and Anganwari Helpers participated in the rally and made people aware about the decreasing sex ratio and the importance of the girl child. The rally culminated at Dream Land Park Kathua.
During the event, kit bags with logo Beti Bachao Beti Padhao were distributed among the Anganwari workers and Anganwari Helpers to discourage the use of plastic and spread the awareness about the hazards of plastic.
Among others present were Programme Officer ICDS (Nodal Officer Beti Bachao Beti Padao) Ritu Mahajan, Project Officer ICDS Kamlesh Lakhanpuria.
