Parkash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh to be celebrated Ji on Jan 20

Jammu, Jan 9: Parkash Utsav (birthday) of 10th Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji is being celebrated on Jan 20. This was informed by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu. In this context a nagar kirtan will be taken out on 18th January, 2021 from Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu.
Addressing a press conference, S. Jagjit Singh, president, DGPC Jammu said that keeping in mind the restriction of COVID-19 the route of nagar kirtan has been curtailed and new route will be followed.
Route: Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu, Dogra Chowk, Vikram Chowk, Police Line / Asia Green Belt Shaurya Chowk, Govt. Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Gurdwara Baba Fateh Singh Ji, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu (Near Dayal Bakery), Kulbir Singh & Sons, Opp. Pahalwan Sweets, Gole Market, Shivangi Chowk, (M/s Ranjeet Advertising) Khalsa Chowk, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
S. Jagjit Singh, president, DGPC Jammu further requested that devotees are requested to take precautions and follow SOPs issued for COVID-19, i.e. wear masks, keep distance etc.
S. Fateh Singh, general secretary, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu requested the public transport system i.e. matador, auto etc. to extend their cooperation by taking alternate routes to reach their destinations.
He also requested to the businessmen and their associations to install welcome gates for the Nagar Kirtan (Religious Procession) passing from their markets. He also requested all the religious, social organisations, departments concerned and public at large to extend their wholehearted support and cooperation for the smooth procession of Nagar Kirtan (Religious Procession) and celebrations of Gurupurab.
On 20th January, 2021 main function of celebrations will be held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu. Guru Ka Langer (Free Blessed Kitchen) will be served. In the Gurpurab Samagam Bhai Gurdeep Singh Ji, Parcharak, Kapoorthala, Bhai Bhupinder Singh Ji, Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Amritsar, Bhai Randhir Singh, Bhai Harbans Singh & Bhai Surjeet Singh of DGPC Jammu will recite the Gurbani and Sikh History on the occasion.
