Migrant employees transfer files gathering dusts
1/9/2021 11:41:25 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 9: Ever since their appointment in Valley the migrant employees are facing problems in interdistrict transfers especially after their marriage so that couple are posted in the same district.
Though it was agreed in principle by the previous Governments that migrant employees after their marriage be posted in one district only so that they may not face any hardships in visiting from one district to other but the same is not adhered to by the authorities of various departments on ground. According to sources many such files of migrant employees who had applied for their transfer so that couple can serve in one district are pending in Civil Secretariat with authorities at the helm of affairs not disposing off them.
Instead of clearing these files and issuing transfer orders unnecessary queries are being raised and files are moving for one table to another table for months together, sources added.
Sources said instead of providing any succour to these employees the authorities create unnecessary problems for them and the spirit under which the employment package was announced by the Government of India is totally brocken by the officers at the helm of affairs.
Sources said the package was announced to encourage the return of Kashmiri Hindus to Valley who were forced to flee by terrorists in 1989 and ,90 when terror gripped the Kashmir.
The Government at that time had ensured that in case of couple these employees be posted in one district only for security purposes and the be not posted in remote areas instead kept near district headquarters only. But the migrant employees files who had applied for transfers are gathering dust as many files are pending in offices where either husband or wife have applied for their transfer in the same district.
