Sajad Lone faces ‘open’ rebellion in PC!
2 senior leaders lock horns with party president
1/12/2021 12:20:00 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu: The Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone is facing a major “rebellion” from within the party as two of his senior leaders have openly questioned the PC head.

Sources said two of the senior leaders of the party have not only questioned Sajad Lone for becoming party of the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration or PAGD but that they are likely to resign from the party if their demands are not met.

Sources said the allegedly “dominant role” played by the National Conference in the recently held District Development Council elections have made the PC leaders take Sajad Lone head on.

While a senior PC leader had only spoken against Sajad Lone in an interview to the media persons, another senior leader from the party has sent a formal letter to the PC President seeking clarification.

It was reliably learnt that the PC leaders believe that the NC allegedly “duped them by fielding proxy candidates” against them in north Kashmir, especially in the Sonawari area.

Sources said the PC leaders have given an ultimatum to Sajad Lone to clear his position or that they would leave the party.

Sources said one of the leaders, who has locked horns with Sajad Lone, is not willing to be party to any alliance where NC is a party.

“There are old issues between the rebel leader and the NC and thus he will never be comfortable with others on the issue where Abdullahs try to be their bosses,” said a senior politician on the condition of anonymity.

Sources said Sajad Lone has been asked to give up the spokespersonship of the PAGD without any further delay and to seek an open apology from National Conference for having “cheated” the PC in Sonwari.

It was reliably learnt that the Sajad Lone has been shocked by the behavior of his senior colleagues and is trying to convince that he would resolve the issues with the PAGD.

Despite repeated attempts, Sajad Lone was not available for comments.
