Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: J&K defeats Tripura by 7 wickets

JAMMU, Jan 12: Auqib Nabi's bowling performance helped Jammu and Kashmir register a first win in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 against Tripura on Tuesday.
Jammu and Kashmir won the toss and opted to bowl at KSCA Cricket (2) Ground, Alur against Tripura in their second match. Jammu and Kashmir team had made two changes Qamran Iqbal and Umer Nabi were replaced by R Dayal and Mujtaba Yousuf.
Batting first, Tripura lost two wickets under the score of 17 runs courtesy R Dayal, who hit on the right length. However, Sankar Paul and Ankarprabha Sinha managed to take their team along and managed a 55 runs partnership for the third wicket. Both the wickets were taken by Abid Muhstaq.
Auqib Nabi was the pick of the bowler for Jammu and Kashmir who took 3 wickets in two over while conceding only 10 runs. While Mujtaba Yousuf bowled four overs and took one wicket just conceding 8 runs.
While IPL sensation Abdul Samad bowled two over and conceded 11 runs, while Parvaiz Rasool took one wicket in 4 overs while conceding 30 runs. For Tripura, only two players to score in double figures while others were bundled out for 9, 7, 5 and 2 runs as Tripura were bundled out for 93 runs in 18 overs.
Chasing the score of 94 runs, Jammu and Kashmir team lost their first wicket on the score of 17 runs, however, it was the score of 33 runs by Suryansh Raina (wk) and 21 runs by Shubham Pundir which helped the J&K to register first win in their second match.
Jammu and Kashmir will take on Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, while the J&K team is currently placed on the fourth position with 2 points in two games. Kashmir will face Tripura next on 12th January at KSCA Cricket (2) Ground, Alur.
Brief scores: Jammu and Kashmir 94/3 in 14.5 overs (Suryansh Raina (wk) 3; Manisankar Murasingh (c) 2-19) beats Tripura 93 in 18.1 overs (Sankar Paul 27, Udiyan Bose 28; Aquib Nabi 3-10) by 7 wickets.
