Student Development Programme held

KISHTWAR, Jan 12: As a part towards upliftment of education in the remote and backward areas of the UT of J & K, Directorate of School Education, Jammu in collaboration with the Indian Army (11RR) today launched the Student Development Programme at Chatroo in district Kishtwar.
As per the details available with Early Times, the event was planned in four phases to be conducted for students of classes 9th to 12th. Phase 1 includes conduct of Basic Coaching Classes for which qualified lecturers will be provided by Directorate of School Education, Jammu. For phase 2, meritorious students will be shortlisted and focussed coaching will be imparted in order to prepare students for competitive exams like JEE, NEET and NDA entrance exam. Phase 3 involves development of Govt Higher Secondary School, Chhatru as a model school with added facilities.
The final phase includes establishment of Smart classrooms and conduct of Skill development courses. The programme was inaugurated by Brigadier Pranab Mishra, Commander Rashtriya Rifles 9 Sector Kishtwar. From the Directorate of School Education Jammu, Roshan Lal, Joint Director Education and Yasir Hussain, Media Coordinator attended the event. The event was attended by Around 100 students, their parents, Teachers, local civil administration officials and prominent civil society members.
As per the senior army officials, this programme is definitely a step towards providing much need basic and specialised coaching for the students as also towards channelizing youth energy in right direction for greater good of the society. It serves as a stepping stone for development of area and is being highly appreciated the local populace.
