| Rape of minor girl accused arrested, booked under POCSO Act | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 12:: Arnia Police arrested a person for raping a minor (12 years) girl under Protect of children from sexual offences (POCSO) Act, and co accused, following a written complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.
Duo Balbir Kumar main accused and Rahul Kumar co-accused resident of Makwal, Arnia were arrested on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother with Arnia police station.
“The girl’s mother alleged in her complaint lodged on Sunday that the two men raped her daughter after kidnapping her on January 7(Thursday). On the bases of complaint, the victim was medically examined and an FIR was lodged against the two accused”, sources said, adding that Balbir Kumar has been booked under section 376 IPC and POCSO Act, while co-accused has been booked under section 109 of IPC.
The Police subsequently managed to nab the accused after launching an extensive search for them, they added.
