Online Chhajja making competition held

JAMMU, Jan 15: In order to bring out the hidden talent of the students and to give them a platform to further building their inner strength, Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar conducted an "Online Chhajja Making Competition" on the occasion of Lohri for the students of class 3rd.
It was an inter-school competition among Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar, R. M. Public School, Chowadhi- Sainik Colony ,Carmel Convent School and Shiksha Niketan High School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The aim of this competition was to aware students about importance of Lohri festival.
Lohri is one of the most commonly celebrated festivals of Northern India. It marks the end of winter season and is traditionally believed to welcome the sun to the northern hemisphere observed a night before the "Makar Sankranti". This occasion also involves a "Puja Parikrama" around the Lohri bonfire with the offering of Parshad.
Through this competition the participants exposed their inherent talent. All of them were full of great enthusiastic zeal.
The winners among the participants were Divyanshi Gupta of Carmel Convent School who got the 1st position, Aahana Gupta of Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar got the 2nd Position, and Suhavi of R.M.P.S bagged the 3rd Position.
This competition was adjudged by Mohita Sethi center Coordinator of Kidszee. The main purpose of this competition was to encourage the students towards "Innovative and creative thinking". Rameshwar Mengi, principal of the school is always of the opinion that such like activities must be organised in the school to aware the students about our rich "Cultural Heritage".
