Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 15: Veteran trade union leader and founder member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Sardar Sukhvinder Singh today resigned from the primary membership of the party along with his supporters due to infighting in the Jammu unit of the party.
In a letter written to party president Mehbooba Mufti, Sardar Sukhvinder Singh said that with heavy heart he is resigning from the primary membership of the party due to ugly infighting in the Jammu unit of the party. He said that the Jammu unit of the party has been virtually hijacked by the outsiders who have nothing to do with the ideology of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Sardar Sukhvinder Singh, one of the founder members of PDP, was associated with late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed from the days of Janta Dal during 1980s. When Mufti Mohammad Sayeed resigned from Janta Dal to join Congress party in 1996, Sukhvider Singh also joined Congress party as political disciple of Mufti Sayeed.
When late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed formed PDP in the year 1999, he was made chairman of the labour wing of the party.
