| Horticulture Deptt organizes farmers training programme | | |

Jammu, Jan 16: The department of horticulture Khour under the directions of director horticulture Jammu Ram Sevak organized one day farmers training programme within district under the ATMA scheme in panchayat lower Naryana of block khour wherein 60 farmers especially women participated.
Speaking on the occasion HDO Khour made aware the farmers about the different schemes of the department and asked them to come forward for availing the benefits of these schemes.
He also demonstrated the methods of training and pruning and propagation techniques of different fruit plants to the trainees.
During the programme, MCC Jammu Uttam Lal also provided on spot training for the processing of different fruits and vegetables and also aware the women trainees about different procedures to be adopted for the processing of fruits and vegetables to convert it into value added products like jam,pickle,preserve,candy,sauces etc.
He also advised the women farmers to avail incentives under different schemes for setting up of small fruit and vegetable processing units by forming self help groups to become self reliant and can play a vital role in enhancing the income of their family.
Sarpanch lower Naryana Sharda Devi also appealed to women farmers to come forward for availing benefits of different schemes of the department in setting up of small scale processing units. Present on the occasion were panches of the panchayat and technicians of the department. |
