| Physically challenged protest against JKSSRB | | |

Jammu, Jan 16: Under the banner of J&K Handicapped Association today, physically challenged people protested against JKSSRB and all District Medical Boards of J&K , under chairmanship of state president Abdul Rashid Bhat “said JKSSRB has been giving troubles to aspirants with disabilities”.
These include insensitivity regarding provision of horizontal reservation, not considering the supreme court orders and directions to not count open merit holders in reserved quota of persons with disabilities.
The invigilators and staff in exams do not know how to accommodate persons with disabilities reasonably and provide scribe facility and extra time.
They feel every aspirant with disability should get order from main office of SSRB however JKSSRB has given performa which needs simple formality of signature from hospital.
The aspirants with disabilities needs to be given four percent reservation as per jobs identified. The jobs not identified should be carried forward with the intention that next year such jibs are served in the pending category.
JKSSRB don't have any concrete mechanism in place to stop the fake disability certificate holders in grabbing the posts of disability quota. Whosoever applies with fake disability certificates in JKSSRB get job and the deserving disable persons get dropped out.
There are many case studied like persons applying under visual disabilities drive bikes and take part in non disable activities hold fake disability certificates. The hearing category in disability is another category in which non disable persons get the chance to grab employment under disability quota. But JKSSRB ignore such facts.
The Lieutenant Governor is requested to intervene in the matter without any delay. Otherwise disability sector will come on roads and agitate till death. |
