1/16/2021 11:29:15 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Jan 16: "Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu has come a long way in addressing issues of business community and this is the time when voters must exercise their franchise cautiously and elect the right candidate to the office so that programmes and policies envisaged for future development don't get harmed or derailed. The ongoing elections are going to set a precedence and of course a benchmark for development of the business community, Chamber House, it's Club and finances besides its members' growth".
This was stated by member of CCI Jammu and social activist Raman Suri, who said that the Chamber, which until yesterday was in debt, has emerged as a financially sound institution which is capable of realizing its dreams in near future. He added that those in fray and accusing the earlier committee, especially incumbent President Rakesh Gupta, were averse to membership of 461 honourable businessmen which was not in good taste.
Asking fellow colleagues to vote cautiously, Suri said that those having political affiliations are trying to play in the hands of their masters, however the apex CCI should be free of all political gimmicks and must be purely handed over to businessmen, so that CCI can plead their cases before the Government in most effective manner.
Running the day-to-day affairs of Chamber House in the most transparent manner and spending each and every penny wisely with the consent of members, the incumbent President Rakesh Gupta has not only taken CCI Jammu out of debt but also cleared all its dues, especially the money due to JDA that was paid. He also got the land lease papers duly registered in the name of CCI Jammu after 23 years of allotment. Suri said, the Chamber under the dynamic leadership of Rakesh Gupta had been carrying out diverse activities and involving every section of society because in a way everyone, either directly or indirectly, is associated with the business activities of town. He reiterated that CCI’s election is crucial for Jammu’s development, so all members of CCI Jammu must vote cautiously and elect most credible people to the posts.
