JAMMU, Jan 17: Budding rap artist from KP migrant community Dhanik Koul is all set to release his video song with the collaboration of Ashoke Pandit productions on the tragedy that happened almost 31 years ago when over lakhs of people of KP community lost their homes and hearths and became strangers to their own motherland followed by armed insurgency in the valley.
Though the present generation has not seen the exodus with their own eyes but have been listening it like a story from their parents and grand parents and undoubtedly from time to time have forgotten the agony and pain and millions today still do not know the true experience of waking up one day to the burning smell of villages, bricks and stones, put together with sweat and blood, or feeling the true agony of being snatched apart as a child from your mother,Dhanik Koul revealed with full emotions and tears in his eyes while talking to EarlyTimes.
He further said to elucidate on the experiences, historical references, and to give you a current scenario visual, he has taken to release a video song titled as Hausla, which is going to hit stands on January 19,the day coinciding with the KPs hollocaust day, dedicated to the memories, abandoned houses and temples of the Kashmiri Pandits that are today away from their homes, but their spirits still haunt the air of Kashmir,Dhanik added .
“It is an attempt to present a window that takes you back in time, and helps you feel every aspect of emotions that we felt, to unite us negatingany bounds of religion, bias or prejudices, and simple experience in music, lyrics, and pictures what my people experienced back then.
We are hoping that it creates awareness, and reaches out as a hug to all my community brothers and sisters, and a sign of gratitude to everyone who took time to watch my video song Hausla and to those who had faith in me and supported me ,Dhanik further added..
