Jammu, Jan 17: District Administration Doda under the supervision of DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode proved its mettle and set up an extraordinary example of good governance when a herculean task of electrifying Gonuri Tanta village of Kahara Tehsil was accomplished in record time.
As per the details available with Early Times, to celebrate the achievement, DC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode today visited the village and formally declared the village as electrified by lighting up a bulb amid huge round of applause by locals,also celebrated the major development with the locals of the respective area.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Doda congratulated the people of the area on being provided the electricity supply for the first time in the history, besides said that district administration will leave no stone unturned to provide the basic amenities to the people especially living in the far flung areas.
He informed the people that during the last grievance redressal program namely LG Mulaqat,a concern for the people of above said village was raised by one of the locals regarding electrification of the respective village.
Acknowledging the concern, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and worthy Chief Secretary of the UT B.V.R Subrahmanyam had directed the district administration to ensure the electrification of the respective village within a matter of a month.
Acting upon the directions of the LG and worthy Chief Secretary, the district administration in coordination with the JPDCL and Shalaka officials, started the work on war footing basis keeping in view the adverse weather conditions,which made this task extremely difficult.
DDC said that on daily basis he used to monitor the status of the progress and asked SDM Thathri to ensure every logistical support to the team and to submit the daily progress report in the DC office.
However the executing team demonstrated great resolve by finishing the work within a matter of 15 days only which is half of the final deadline,the DDC added.
DC Doda while speaking expressed his satisfaction with this exceptional piece of work demonstrated by the whole team,adding to this the locals of the respective village celebrated this as a major accomplishment by the LG Administration of the UT of J&K and also showered blessings on the DDC Doda.
Among others present during the program are SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar,BDC Chairperson Kahara,SDPO Gandoh Mohd Nawaz khanday, Tehsildar Kahara,BDO Kahara,Thathri, Officials of Shalaka, besides locals and media person’s.
