JAMMU, Jan 19: Slamming the power project authorities for denying the jobs to the local unemployed youths in power projects besides resorting to machine work instead of manual work, DDC member from Palmar Tahir Masood Sheikh said that the project managements should reserve the quota for unemployed youths of Kishtwar District in under construction power projects under execution in the district.
Speaking to Early Times, Tahir Masood said that elected public representatives have been sent by the people; particularly by youths with many responsibilities and the public in general have hopes from them.
Tahir Masood said that there is an immediate need of employment quota for local youths in the 1000 MW Pakal Dul Project which is under construction in our locality for which a large number of aspirants including trained engineers, skilled and unskilled youths of local vicinity are eagerly waiting for their engagement. He urged the government to fix a special priority for engagement of these unemployed youths in this project at an earliest to curb the unemployment.
“There are many naturally beautiful places including some public places like Dargahs, shrines etc which require attention from the tourism department. Some priority locations among them are Dargah Shah Zainuddin Sakhi at Bhandarkoot and Rakna, Shrine at Bhandarkoot and Bhatta Palmar beside beautiful picnic spots at Zamun, Tailaml and Rachul which required immediate attention from tourism department” said Tahir Masood.
He said the existing Water Supply Schemes like Paribag and Kokaraloo which are the main source of water for the whole Palmar, needs immediate augmentation and up gradation on priority so that each hamlet of the area can be saved from crucial water scarcity.
He said that there is only one Higher Secondary School in Palmar area which is presently functioning in a very poor specification of only four class rooms added that Land has been acquired 4 years ago, but no construction has been done till date.
He said the health sector of Palmar is in abysmal condition as there are two PHCs which are without doctors and other medical staff as a result of which poor public is suffering immensely.
He also advocated the regularisation of DRWs & Casual Labours, beside also called for establishment of offices for DDCs with creation of staff for the same.
He said there are hamlets without road connectivity namely Kulna, Meerna, Malikpura, Boorna, Khain, Dajji, Chamalie, and Sonabaty and requested the government for sanctioning of the same.
