JAMMU, Jan 19: A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee, Jammu held today here under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Satish Sharma, reviewed the action taken on the road safety measures in the district.
Besides, strategy for rectification of black spots on National Highways in next one year was also discussed. The meeting was convened in order to make travelling on the roads safer and secure.
During the meeting, the ADC expressed concern over the traffic jams on the city roads and directed the concerned enforcement agencies to take strict action against the traffic violators.
Earlier, Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Dhananter Singh, gave a brief presentation on the various activities to be conducted during the ongoing 32nd National Road Safety Month campaign. He also informed the Committee about the action taken on the various decisions taken in its earlier meeting.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police(HQ), Jammu; ACR, JMC, Jammu; Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Jammu; Nodal Officer, GGM Science College, Jammu; Project Director, NHAI, Jammu; Chief Education Officer, Jammu; Chief Medical Officer, Jammu; General Manager, JKRTC, Jammu; Executive Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control, Jammu; Site Engineer, NHIDCL, Jammu; Manager, NHIDCL, Jammu; Representative of Sampark; Executive Officer Akhnoor/Khour/R.S. Pura besides representatives of concerned departments/ stakeholders.
